Leicester trio will miss match

14 April 2012

Leicester manager Micky Adams will assess the physical and mental state of Paul Dickov, Frank Sinclair and Keith Gillespie before deciding when they can return to action.

The trio were returning to England today after being bailed last night following a court hearing in Cartagena.

Dickov, Sinclair and Gillespie have been held in a Spanish prison for a week after allegations of sexual aggression towards three African-born German nationals. Adams has already ruled the players out of tomorrow's Premiership match at Birmingham City. And any involvement after that will depend on their overall condition after the traumas of the past week.

Adams said: "My plans this week have all been geared to working without the three and we will put out a team at St Andrew's that does not involve them.

"As regards the rest of the season, we are not exactly sure when they will be back but what we have got to take into consideration is their fitness and state of mind. We have got to consider whether they will be ready to play football because it must have been a traumatic time for them.

"I need to get them back into the football club and assess them physically and mentally."

Midfielder Muzzy Izzet is hoping that Leicester's resolve will have been strengthened by recent events. Izzet said: "We had to deal with going into administration last season and it made us stronger.

"Hopefully we will come out of this a lot stronger."
