Leicester admit that Izzet will have to go

14 April 2012

Leicester City are resigned to losing Muzzy Izzet in the summer, with manager Micky Adams admitting: 'We can't afford to keep him.'

The Turkey midfielder has been with the club for nearly nine years, but Adams added: 'Muzzy is going to go but we're not sure where. There are a number of Premiership clubs who are interested.'

Bolton are one, but Birmingham are favourites to sign him.

Leicester may appeal against FA charges - arising from the home game against Manchester City - of failing to control their players and improper conduct by midfielder Steffen Freund.
