Leeds have softened the blow of Kearnan Myall's and Luther Burrell's impending departures by announcing three of their young stars have signed new contracts.

Props Phil Swainston and Gareth Denman and lock Tom Denton have all agreed two-year deals with the Aviva Premiership strugglers.

Head coach Neil Back said: "We are delighted all three players have committed their future to the club."

He added: "Leeds Carnegie has a strong tradition of giving young players the chance to play at the highest level and all three of these players are proud Yorkshiremen who love playing for their club.

"We are in the process of securing our squad for next season and this is great news on the back of Marco Wentzel's new contract last week."

Denton, 23, is currently out with a shoulder injury but has been a mainstay of the pack this season.

Swainston, 21, has now made 41 appearances for the club in all competitions, while 20-year-old Denman has also broken into the first-team squad since making his debut last term.

Versatile forward Myall and centre Burrell have turned down new contracts and will leave the club at the end of the season, with the former having penned a two-year deal with Sale.
