Kuqi joins Ipswich exodus

14 April 2012

Ipswich manager Joe Royle has confirmed Blackburn target Shefki Kuqi will join several players in leaving Portman Road this summer.

Royle has already lost England Under-21 international striker Darren Bent to Charlton and goalkeeper Kelvin Davis to Sunderland, who have also agreed terms with Town midfielder Tommy Miller.

Kuqi, the Finland international who scored 20 goals for the club last season, is also expected to leave Suffolk.

Royle told the club's official website, www.itfc.co.uk: "I can confirm both Tommy and Shefki have chosen to look elsewhere for their football next season.

"We made excellent offers to both players, as good as we could make at Championship level, but the lure of the Premiership has proven too great."
