The Masters is two weeks away, but Jordan Spieth is already looking forward to the first Major of the year being over.

The American dominated in the defence of his Green Jacket last year until dropping six shots in the first three holes of his final back nine.

"No matter what happens at this year’s Masters, whether I can grab the jacket or I miss the cut or I finish 30th, it will be nice having the Masters go by," he said ahead of the Dell Technologies Match Play, which starts tomorrow.

"The Masters lives on for a year. It brings a non-golf audience into golf and it will be nice once this year’s finished from my point of view to be brutally honest with you."

The former world No.1 has an enviable record at the course. He has yet to finish out of the top two in his three Masters to date —he was also second in 2014.

"It would be best if I could reclaim the jacket," he added. "Whether that happens this year or not, it will just be nice because there’s no other Masters."
