Jonah is honoured

Jonah Lomu, whose career has been curtailed by a rare kidney disorder, will be given a special merit award by his peers four days before the World Cup Final.

The winger was the face of the last two tournaments but was left out of the All Blacks squad this time as he overcomes nephrotic syndrome, which requires dialysis treatment.

International Rugby Players' Association president Tony Dempsey said Lomu would receive the association's discretionary Special Merit Award at a ceremony in Sydney on 18 November.
