Jol makes quick return to football

Martin Jol decided to spend his first Saturday since his acrimonious departure from Tottenham at Roots Hall.

The Dutch coach was spotted in the crowd at the League One clash between Southend United and Carlisle United, reported Sky Sports News.

He was axed by Spurs on Thursday evening to make way for Juande Ramos, who resigned as Sevilla coach 24 hours later.

As Jol spent his free afternoon in Essex, Ramos was believed to be in the capital after jetting in from Spain by private jet.

Ramos is expected to be a spectator at White Hart Lane tomorrow for the Premiership match against Blackburn
