Johnson keeps calm to claim Hawaii win

13 April 2012

Zach Johnson fired a five-under 65 to win the Sony Open in Hawaii today.

The 2007 Masters champion's 15-under 265 was two strokes better than David Toms and Adam Scott.

The 32-year-old said: "I am encouraged by the way I've started the year.

"It was tough. The wind was a little gusty at times and I feel fortunate to have come out on top."

Johnson entered the final round with a one-shot lead but was in a three-way tie at the turn. He started the back nine with consecutive birdies and added two more at number 14 and 18 to wrap up his fifth PGA Tour victory.
