James Haskell vows to prove his worth to Martin Johnson

Moving on: James Haskell left Wasps to join Stade Francais at the end of last season
13 April 2012

James Haskell is aiming to convince Martin Johnson he deserves to be back in the England squad by impressing for Stade Francais.

The flanker was left out of Johnson's 32-strong elite squad yesterday and having quit Wasps at the end of last season he will no longer be appearing in front of the selectors regularly.

Despite that, Haskell is taking heart from the fact team manager Johnson did call-up Jonny Wilkinson (Toulon) and Riki Flutey (Brive).

Writing on his Twitter page, he said: "I am out the England squad which is gutting on every level but another challenge which I accept and will dominate.

"The bottom line is I have to play better and work harder. Getting into the Stade team is task number one. I love a challenge."
