Israel match is must-win - Terry

12 April 2012

Captain John Terry has claimed there is "a lot more to come" from England's players after admitting they have underachieved under Steve McClaren.

And Terry insisted England, who currently sit third in their European Championship qualification group, can only be satisfied with victory against Israel on Saturday as they look to get their campaign back on track.

Terry admitted: "I don't like to see us where we are in the table. We can't say a draw is a good result. A draw will not be good enough for us. Our next four or five games, we need to win them all."

He added: "I like this sort of game. There is a lot on it. We need to win.

"We know we have underachieved as a group of players since Steve McClaren took over and it is only us who can do something about that.

"We are a group of players who want to improve on our last few performances and get back in the table to where we know we belong."

He added: "We need to do our talking on the pitch and start winning things, start winning games consistently, playing well consistently.

"I don't think we've ever made out that we are very good. Everyone else has said that but as players we feel we have got a lot more to come."
