Injured Jones out of Six Nations

14 April 2012

Wales flanker Dafydd Jones will miss the rest of this season's Six Nations due to a pelvic injury.

The Llanelli forward was a late withdrawal from the team that beat Italy 38-8 in Rome after aggravating a groin problem.

Jones has now been told he needs to rest for six weeks, giving Wales more back-row injury trouble after Newcastle flanker Colin Charvis was ruled out by a foot problem.

"Dafydd's condition is preventing him from running," said Wales team physiotherapist Mark Davies.

Italy's No8, Sergio Parisse, faces a disciplinary committee today after being cited by the independent match commissioner for using the boot on Wales fly-half Stephen Jones.
