India pile misery on Bangladesh

12 April 2012

India continued to pile on the runs against Bangladesh with centuries from Rahul Dravid and Dinesh Karthik helping the visitors to a formidable 493 for two on day two of the second Test.

The captain reached 129 but Karthik (129) and Sachin Tendulkar (83 not out) ensured the visitors' dominance was not threatened.

Resuming the second morning on 326 without loss, Dravid and Tendulkar quickly found their stride with the former knocking off the 12 runs needed to complete his ton.

It was Mohammad Rafique who eventually broke the partnership, with Dravid edging the ball to Javed Omar at point.

Karthik then took to the crease for a second time and added the 18 runs needed to post his maiden Test century, while Tendulkar continued to cause problems at the other end reaching the 50-mark in 98 balls.
