Hussain and Law head for reunion

David Lloyd13 April 2012

Stuart Law and Essex are still on course for one of the sparkiest reunions of the year at Lord's.

Law's new county, Lancashire, have been drawn at home to Warwickshire in next month's Benson and Hedges Cup semi-finals and his former employers tackle Worcestershire at Chelmsford.

The Australian scored more than 8,500 first-class runs for Essex over the course of six summers and played any number of crucial one-day innings for them. But their parting at the end of last season was particularly acrimonious.

There will be no shortage of passion if they cross swords again on 22 June for the 31st and final B&H showdown.

Meanwhile, Nasser Hussein said he could not remember his last one-day hundred but he won't forget his magnificent, unbeaten 136 which guided Essex to a sevenwicket victory over Yorkshire. "I think it was about two years ago but I haven't played much for Essex in recent years.

"This season, there are new vibes and it's great to play with them. They have made some excellent signings and I can't speak highly enough of whoever signed them."

B&H semi-finals.

6 June: Essex v Worcs (Chelmsford).
7 June: Lancs v Warwicks (Old Trafford).
