Hull drop Tansey for disciplinary breach

Hull have dropped full-back Jordan Tansey for Friday's home game against Harlequins for disciplinary reasons.

The former Leeds utility player, who cut short a stint with Sydney Roosters last June to join Hull on a two-year contract, started the new season in fine form and was one of the better performers in last week's first defeat of the season at Crusaders.

The club, who introduced a strict new code of conduct this season, have not divulged any details of the breach.

A statement issued by the club said: "Jordan Tansey is not available for selection for this week's game due to an internal disciplinary matter.

"He will be available for next week's game against Castleford Tigers on Friday, March 5 at the KC Stadium. The club or player will not make any further comment on this matter."

Tansey's removal from the squad could mean a debut for close-season signing Jordan Turner.

Tansey is the third player to be suspended by Hull in the last six months.

In August hooker Tommy Lee and second-rower Mike Burnett were dropped for disciplinary reasons.

Lee was subsequently released and joined Crusaders but Burnett is back in favour, although he makes way on Friday for the return from injury of Danny Tickle.
