Ascot Racecourse will bring its 2018-19 jumps season to a close with a special family raceday to mark Mothering Sunday this weekend.

The meet, one of four designated family days to be held throughout 2019, will be the last National Hunt event to be held at the track before attention turns to the flat season, including the world famous Royal Ascot week in June.

As well as the racing, which includes leg five of the popular Veterans’ Chase Series and the £40,000 Algo Corp Novices’ Chase, a range of free activities are being put on, from cooking demonstrations to children’s arts and crafts, with under 18s allowed free entry.

It will bring the curtain down on what has been a fantastic jumps season for the course, headlined by a memorable nine-race card back in February, when several graded contests due to be held elsewhere were rearranged due to the equine flu outbreak.

The course, more renowned for its history in flat racing, has welcomed some of the best jumps horses in training this winter, with Champion Chase hero Altior, King George winner Clan Des Obeaux and the highest-rated horse in training, Cyrname, all having triumphed on the track this year.

Under 18s go free with a paying adult. To book tickets or for further information visit www.ascot.co.uk or call 0344 346 3000.
