Hull's long-serving stand-off Richard Horne will remain a one-club man after signing a new two-year contract with the black and whites.

Horne, who has made 317 appearances since making his debut as a 16-year-old in 1999, was out of contract this year but will stay at the KC Stadium at least until the end of the 2013 season.

"We are pleased to have got the deal completed so quickly with Richard," said coach Richard Agar. "The negotiations didn't take too long at all."

He added: "Richard has shown what a quality footballer he is over the last decade or so with the club and we hope to see even more of that now he has put pen to paper on a new deal.

"In this era of the modern game with the salary cap and short contracts, for Richard to remain a one-club man and such a loyal servant is a great achievement and something from which we have reaped the rewards.

"Hopefully those rewards will continue with the chance of some silverware over the next couple of years for Richard so he can end his career as a legend of the club."

Horne, who turns 29 on Saturday, was recently diagnosed with diabetes and overcame a career-threatening neck injury to play in 21 of his club's 23 matches so far this season.

"It's good to get it done and dusted and I can focus on my rugby now," he said. "I am happy to be here and it's great I'm staying at Hull."

Horne will be at stand-off for Friday night's Engage Super League match against Leeds at Headingley, where he made his debut 12 years ago.
