Holloway's new deal

14 April 2012

Ian Holloway welcomed his new three-and-a-half-year contract at Queens Park Rangers by saying: "It feels like I've won the lottery."

The Rangers manager, 41, signed the deal after nearly a month of talks.

He said: "You can't do it all in one go but if we build this club correctly and get the infrastructure right, it will help our players to flourish. We're not instant coffee. This is long term and I want to lift our brand even higher."

QPR have extended the loan spell of Charlton goalkeeper Simon Royce for another month. Midfielder Marc Bircham could return for tomorrow's home game against Preston after recovering from a debilitating virus.
