Holloway's call to QPR fans

Queens Park Rangers manager Ian Holloway had little sympathy for his players after they suffered a last-minute 2-1 defeat at home to Tranmere, but he is desperate for the supporters to keep backing his team.

Holloway, 38, said: "We have an inexperienced side, but I was delighted at how they got right behind the players in the second half today, despite their frustrations. We need to compete a lot better than that. Even at my age I could have won more challenges out there."

Holloway is, however, unlikely to be able to spend his way out of trouble and added: "I can't shop at Harrods, I have to go to bring and buy sales."
