Hinton back in winning mode

Wanstead captain Jon Hinton has started the new cricket season as he ended the last one - with a trophy in his hands.

Hinton lifted club cricket's biggest prize, the Evening Standard Challenge Trophy, at The Oval last September - and has now claimed the Champion of Champions trophy.

Wanstead beat BWIA Cavaliers by three runs in the inaugural challenge between the Evening Standard champions and the winners of the Western Union Knockout Cup.

Man of the match Danny Walters topscored with 71 in the Wanstead total of 204 for seven.
