Hinds closes in on a double Test ton

14 April 2012

Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Wavell Hinds both hit unbeaten centuries to give the West Indies some respite from the ongoing sponsorship dispute on the opening day of the First Test against South Africa in Guyana.

Playing on his home ground, Chanderpaul became only the third West Indian to claim a century in his first Test as captain with his 102 not out guiding the hosts to 347 for three.

Opener Hinds who was playing his first Test for 14 months, ended the day unbeaten on a career-best 188.
