Hasselbaink pleased after FA hearing

13 April 2012

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was pleased to get a "fair hearing" after being found not guilty of misconduct by the Football Association, as reported in

Standard Sport

The Chelsea striker was accused of elbowing Claus Lundekvam during the 4-2 New Year's Day defeat by Southampton but the 29-year-old, helped by video evidence for the third time this season, was cleared by the three-man disciplinary panel.

"I had a fair hearing and I am very happy with the result," said Hasselbaink today.

If Hasselbaink had been found guilty of violent conduct, he could have faced a threematch ban.

Earlier, Tottenham's Mauricio Taricco was found guilty of improper conduct by the disciplinary commission and fined £5,000 for raising his hands to Mario Melchiot during the Worthington Cup semi-final with Chelsea at White Hart Lane.
