1947:

1964: March - Signs professional forms for West Ham following apprenticeship at Upton Park.

1965-71: Makes 149 League appearances for the Hammers, including three as sub, scoring five goals from his wing position during six season career.

1972-75: Signs for Bournemouth in August 1972. Makes 101 League appearances, including five as sub, scoring five goals.

1976: September - Signs for Brentford, but makes just one appearance.

1982: September - Returns to Bournemouth as team coach.

1983: Takes over from Don Megson as manager.

1987: Guides Bournemouth to Division Three championship.

1990: Only able to keep the Cherries in Division Two for three seasons as they are relegated.

1992: Leaves Bournemouth to return to West Ham as assistant manager to Billy Bonds.

1993: West Ham promoted to the Premier League.

1994: Named as the Hammers' eighth manager in the club's history after Bonds resigns. Signs five-year contract.

1997: Signs John Hartson for club record fee of £3.2million from Arsenal - a move which pays off as Hartson weighs in with five goals to preserve Hammers' Premiership status. They finish 14th.

1998: Acts as peacemaker after Hartson is caught on video kicking midfielder Eyal Berkovic in the face during training session. Hammers finish in their best Premiership position of eighth.

1999: Hammers beat last season's best by finishing fifth in the Premiership largely due to the form of Paolo di Canio, who Redknapp signs for £1.7million from Sheffield Wednesday in January.

2000: Hammers finish season ninth but Redknapp forced to admit defeat in his battle to hold on to Rio Ferdinand, who moves to Leeds for a British record £18million.

2001: Hammers struggle for much of the season despite Redknapp's promising midfield triumvirate of Joe Cole, Michael Carrick and Frank Lampard. Hammers end their relegation threat with three weeks of the season remaining but, at 14th in the table, Redknapp decides to quit.
