Harris tries to remain grounded

Crusaders coach Iestyn Harris wants his side to keep their feet on the ground after shocking Engage Super League leaders Huddersfield Giants with a six-try haul and a 32-6 defeat.

Many expected the Giants to run up a cricket score over the Welshmen who were bottom of the table with only two wins this season, especially after the Crusaders were thrashed by 60 points at Warrington last week.

Crusaders coach Harris said: "It was a great performance by us but I don't want it to be just a flash in the pan. We have got to keep the momentum going. The players had 45 minutes to celebrate after the match before they had a swim and will have two training sessions over the weekend before the Leeds game."

He added: "Leeds at Leeds will always be tough so we will go there and try and get our house in order and make sure we can play the best we can which, hopefully, will be enough.

"Huddersfield are a very good side and we threw a lot at the game. Defensively, we were very impressive but we had to do it tough defensively.

"That is what you have to do and, ultimately, if the defensive side is good, the attacking side comes as well."

Giants boss Brown made no excuses for his team's lax performance, which saw them give away possession and turnovers far too often in the Crusaders' half.

"I think this is unlike a performance that we are use to," said Brown.

"Most sides have one or two of these a year and today was definitely one for us.

"You have to give the opposition plenty of credit but if you don't have attitude and commitment, there is always a chance that you are going to get beaten no matter who you are playing."
