Hal to inherit Ryder Cup job

Hal Sutton looks set to be named the new Ryder Cup captain of the United States tomorrow. He will succeed Curtis Strange, the losing captain against Europe at The Belfry last month.

Sutton was a member of the losing team at The Belfry and has made no secret of his desire to captain the US team.

The 44-year-old said: "Making Ryder Cup teams, whether as a player or a captain, is what you strive to do when you're young or old."
