Gibbs and Boje to tour India

12 April 2012

Herschelle Gibbs and Nicky Boje have made themselves available to South Africa for the ICC Champions Trophy, which begins in India in October.

The duo were named in connection with the match-fixing scandal which saw the late former Proteas captain Hansie Cronje receive a life ban from the sport in 2000. Gibbs was also fined and suspended for six months for agreeing to underperform in a one-day international against India.

Both Gibbs and Boje have refused to travel to the country since for fear of being detained by Indian police. But Cricket South Africa chief executive Gerald Majola said: "Herschelle and Nicky have confirmed that they will go to India if selected and that they will co-operate fully with any interviews which the Indian police may wish to hold with them."
