Solheim Cup star Georgia Hall has called on the Ladies European Tour to harness the success of Gleneagles just as women's football did after England's run at the World Cup in France.

Hall, 23, won four points from four in Scotland over the weekend as Europe claimed the Cup back from America by a single point, Suzann Pettersen holing the winning putt on the final green to claim victory before announcing her retirement.

Players now struggle to make a living operating solely on the Ladies European Tour. At the start of the decade the tour boasted 25 official events, in the last full season - 2018 - there were just 15.

But there is now fresh hope that the success of the Solheim Cup could prompt sponsors and officials at the tour to drive interest once more.

"Can the sport capitalise on it? Definitely," Hall told Standard Sport. "I think it will be great for the Ladies European Tour, we need to start taking this momentum with us and a lot of people, a lot of youngsters, will now play the game because they watched it. It was such a close match that I think it has done great for golf in Britain and in Europe.

"I think so many people, all the comments I have had personally, have been so much more than other events, other team events that I now can't wait for the next Solheim to see what that brings. It will be interesting to see what the LET schedule will look like because of it next year, hopefully there will be a couple more tournaments."

Hall, who won the Women's British Open in 2018, is already looking to kick on and develop further following another career landmark.

Less than 24 hours after the winning putt was holed, Hall was at Schoen Clinic London, the leading provider in orthopaedic care, going through an all-encompassing programme designed to identify any physical issues that could become a problem further down the line.

"It has been incredible to see what happens here," Hall said of her visit. "You walk through the door and see the space and facilities they have, all the specialists from every field that that work here.

"It is incredible, so nice you can go to the place and have everything. It is so easy. We love competing so the worse thing to get is an injury, this will be a great place to come if I get injured but I've also learnt a few things today that will hopefully help me keep injury free and out on the course."

Georgia Hall has partnered with leading healthcare provider Schoen Clinic London. Schoen Clinic London, a world renowned innovator in the treatment and prevention of sports related injuries, is lending its expertise to benefit some of the world’s leading golfers including Hall, Henrik Stenson, Francesco Molinari and Padraig Harrington.
