Gareth Barry wound up to take out Villa frustration on visitors

Simon Johnson13 April 2012

Gareth Barry has admitted being on international duty with England has provided a welcome distraction from Aston Villa's slump in form.

The midfielder is set to start against Ukraine tomorrow and is hoping to take his Premier League frustration out on them after seeing his club blow a six-point lead over Arsenal in the battle for fourth place.

Barry said: "The break will do everyone the world of good including myself - coming away training with different players, a different style of football and a different team.

"The last few weeks at Aston Villa have been very disappointing. We're all a bit down considering where we were a month ago, sitting in third or fourth place with a nice gap (over Arsenal). There are a lot of negative comments around at the moment."
