Fu is chasing revenge

13 April 2012

Marco Fu wants revenge against Stephen Hendry in the second round of the Regal Welsh Open at Cardiff tonight.

The finest player to emerge from Hong Kong set up a clash with the seven times world champion with a 5-1 victory over Liverpool's Wayne Brown.

Twenty-three-year-old Fu, who has come off second best in his three previous encounters with Scotland's Hendry, said: "Stephen has given me a lot of problems every time we've played.

"I know it'll be tough but I think revenge is possible because I'm hitting the ball well.

"When I first took up the game Stephen was one of my favourites.

"He dominated the circuit but he can't do that now because there are just too many good players around.

"However, although people say he's well past his best, I think Stephen is capable of winning tournaments again."
