Zlatan Ibrahimovic: I know I am the best

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has repeated his claim that he is the world’s best player and said he does not need to win the Ballon d’Or to prove it.

The Sweden striker has been in superb form this year for Paris St-Germain, scoring eight goals in this season’s Champions League to help the French side ease into the last 16 of Europe’s elite competition.

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored a hat-trick for Portugal against Sweden in their World Cup play-off, Lionel Messi and Franck Ribery are favourites to win FIFA’s Ballon d’Or award.

But Ibrahimovic said: “I don’t need the Ballon d’Or to know I’m the best. It matters more to some players.

“It’s not something I think about and it is something that is not important for me.”
