Yohan Cabaye will have a medical at Crystal Palace today ahead of his move from Paris Saint-Germain.

Palace have agreed a club record fee that could rise to over £12million with add-ons and Cabaye is expected to be announced as a Palace player before the weekend.

The transfer, which sees the 29-year-old reunited with his former boss at Newcastle, Alan Pardew, demonstrates Palace’s ambition to establish themselves as a top-10 side in the Premier League.

Cabaye would be Palace’s first summer signing but more arrivals are expected.

The club's co-chairman Steve Parish said this week: 'It would be a massive thing for the club obviously, because he's a seasoned international.'

Cabaye joined PSG from Newcastle for £19m in January 2014 but the French midfielder started just 13 League games last season and wants to play regular football ahead of next summer’s European Championships, which will take place in France.
