Tottenham have confirmed Manchester City legend Yaya Toure has joined the club’s coaching staff.

The Ivorian previously held coaching positions at Ukrainian club Olimpik Donetsk and Russian side Akhmat Grozny, leaving the latter in June 2021, moving to Spurs on a part-time basis late last year.

Toure has been working with the club’s U18 group and hailed the players working in set-up as “so smart and so clever” as he worked towards his coaching badges in north London.

Simon Davies, formerly of Manchester United during his playing days, has also been handed a role behind the scenes as head of methodology in the academy at Hotspur Way.

Scott Parker, currently in charge of Premier League rivals Bournemouth, began his coaching career with the Spurs youth teams, while Ryan Mason is working alongside Antonio Conte with the first-team in north London.
