Wycombe players celebrate drawing Tottenham in FA Cup fourth round

Sam Long10 January 2017

The FA Cup may - sadly - no longer be seen as a priority by some Premier League teams.

But Wycombe's reaction to tonight's fourth round draw proves the magic of the competition is shining brightly among clubs further down the football pyramid.

Gareth Ainsworth's side, who currently occupy fifth place in the League Two table, landed a plumb tie away at Tottenham.

And Wycombe's players could hardly contain themselves when they heard the news that they would have an opportunity to play at White Hart Lane.

Mauricio Pochettino's side, who saw off Aston Villa to reach this stage, will be installed as clear favourites.

The north Londoners are 70 league places above their opponents and are unbeaten on home turf this season but will encounter an unusual challenge when they host the Chairboys.

Adebayo 'The Beast' Akinfenwa is likely to lead Wycombe's front line, which could give Toby Alderweireld and Co a problem or two.

But the bulky striker has joked he will not be chasing Dele Alli around as he did the first time he shared a pitch with the Spurs midfielder.

FA Cup fourth round ties will be played over the weekend of January 27-30.
