A sense of deja vu swept across the Allianz Arena when Arjen Robben cut inside, onto his left foot and fired the ball into the back of the net. After all, he's done it some many, many times during his career.

Why then, with Arsenal certainly no strangers to facing Bayern, was the Dutch winger allowed to do this?

The inquest immediately started on Twitter and two culprits were quickly singled out; Mesut Ozil and Francis Coquelin.

The Frenchman, just 11 days on from being shrugged off the ball by Eden Hazard on the way to the Chelsea man scoring a goal-of-the-season contender, was accused of being flat-footed and slow to close Robben down.

Ozil has come under fire for a string of perceived below-par performances in recent weeks, with speculation mounting ahead of the Champions League double-header if he should be dropped, and was guilty of ball-watching as Robben broke the deadlock.
