FIFA are to investigate allegations of possibly discriminatory chanting by England fans during the England v Croatia semi-final.
The footballing body has opened disciplinary proceedings against the Football Association following reports of discriminatory chanting by England fans during Wednesday night's World Cup match.
The governing body announced the news on Thursday, July 12, though precise details of the allegations are unknown.
It is reported that fans were allegedly shouting “no surrender” – an anti-IRA slogan – during the national anthem.

"We can confirm that a report has been filed through the anti-discrimination monitoring system in relation to chants of a possible discriminatory nature by English fans at yesterday's match," a statement read.
"Subsequently, disciplinary proceedings have been opened against the Football Association. Further updates will be communicated in due course. As proceedings are ongoing, please understand we cannot comment further at this stage."
Wednesday's game saw the largest presence of England fans at the World Cup to date, although the Three Lions' hopes of a first World Cup final appearance since 1966 were ended by a 2-1 extra-time defeat.
England conclude their tournament with a third-fourth play-off against Belgium on Saturday.
