Robin Van Persie's flying high

Robin Van Persie helped Holland get their World Cup campaign off to a flying start with a 2-0 win against Denmark yesterday.

The Arsenal striker played a key role in the first goal and looked fresh against the Danes. He missed five months of the domestic season with injury, only returning to Arsene Wenger's side in April.

Van Persie's international team-mate Wesley Sneijder is confident the Dutch will improve as the tournament progresses and believes they have strength in depth to make a major impact in South Africa.

"We didn't play that well but we won, 2-0," he said. "I think the win is the most important thing.

"We improved a lot in the second half and got the result. So we are satisfied.

"We have some fantastic players on the bench, who can come in and really make the difference. They have creativity and good ability."

Meanwhile, Van Persie's Arsenal team-mate Cesc Fabregas is refusing to take anything for granted when Spain kick off their World Cup bid against Switzerland tomorrow.

The European champions are favourites to win their first ever World Cup but the Arsenal captain is not getting carried away. "We're a regular team and we need to go little by little," he said.

"When we won the Euro nobody was talking about us. You have to be humble and only concentrate on the first game and we'll see what happens. Group classification is the only importance."

The new Arsenal away kit is available to pre-order today through club outlets and via www.arsenal.com. The kit is priced at £45 for adults with children's shirts at £35. The Armoury, All Arsenal stores will be open between 9am - 5.30pm today.
