Argentina won’t win the 2014 World Cup “even if hell freezes over”, according to Chelsea and Brazil star Oscar.

The 22-year-old was part of the Brazil side that won the Confederations Cup last year, and looks set to represent his country when the World Cup visits this summer.

Speaking to Goal.com, Oscar was asked if Argentina could win the World Cup in Brazil.

“Don’t even think about it,” he answered. “Argentina won’t win even if hell freezes over!

“They are a great team but Brazil won’t let that happen.”

The Chelsea forward is far more confident in his own country’s chances, however, and thinks that a team will have to knock Brazil out to have any chance of winning the tournament.

“They will have to play out of their skins because we are going to do everything to win this World Cup,” he said. “I’m sure we’ll bring this World Cup home.”

Oscar, who made his international debut against Argentina back in September 2011, has netted nine times in 32 appearances for Chelsea this season.
