Wilfried Zaha has given the clearest indication yet that he will stay at Crystal Palace this summer by saying he does not see himself at another club.

Tottenham could make a fresh bid for Zaha and Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City have also been linked a move for the 25-year-old. But Zaha said: “Crystal Palace is my home town. The support is genuine support. It is families and kids who love us as players. I do not really see myself anywhere else.

“Obviously I am contracted for four years. I am just enjoying my football at Palace right now. I am happy where I am. All this stuff about us getting relegated, I just want us to be stable.”

Palace do not want to sell Zaha and his admission boosts their chances of keeping the winger if they stay the Premier League.

Zaha has helped Palace pull clear of the bottom three since he returned from a knee injury last month and his importance to the team was highlighted by his two goals in last weekend’s 3-2 win against Brighton.

Palace have not claimed a point without Zaha this season and he admits he enjoys being their talisman. “I put the pressure on myself because I want to be that player,” he said. “When you look at different teams they look to someone to score goals or do whatever. I like to have that pressure.”

Palace are five points above the relegation zone with four matches left and they can take a step closer to safety when they play Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Palace have been given the green light to build a new £100m main stand at Selhurst Park after Croydon council last night granted planning permission for the project. The redevelopment will expand the capacity of the stadium to more than 34,000 and Palace hope the new stand will be completed by the start of the 2020-21 season.

Palace hope to start building work at the end of next season and chairman Steve Parish said: “This is as big as anything we have achieved in the eight years I have been at the club.”
