Crystal Palace go into the international break just one point above the relegation zone but Wilfried Zaha believes the squad will arrest their slide.

Palace lost 3-2 at Burnley on Saturday as they were condemned to a fourth consecutive defeat.

The main concern is that their defence is leaking goals with 10 conceded in three matches and Palace face third-placed Manchester City at Selhurst Park when the Premier League returns in two weeks.

Palace went 14 League matches without a win last term and Wilfried Zaha is confident they will turn things around this time.

“I have been in worse situations before, like last season when we did not win in ages, but we have to stick together,” he said. “I know it does not look the best right now but I am sure we will get out of it.

“You can’t put your head down, you’ve just got to carry on going because no one else is going to do it for you. You have to keep plugging away.”

The defeat at Burnley was self‑inflicted, with Ashley Barnes scoring a 94th-minute winner on the break after Palace had thrown men forward for a free-kick.

“We will have to review the goals and make sure we don’t get caught like we did,” said boss Alan Pardew. “It is galling. The goals are errors that have cost us and mistakes we cannot afford to make at this level.”
