Who could Arsenal face in the Champions League quarter-finals?

The Gunners face a daunting last-eight clash after edging past Porto

Arsenal are in the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time in 14 years, and are likely to face a daunting test.

The Gunners made hard work of their last-16 tie against Porto, losing the first leg 1-0 before taking the second leg to a penalty shootout as heroics from goalkeeper David Raya sealed a last-eight spot.

This is Arsenal's first season in the Champions League in seven years, and if they are to make the most of it they must start beating the continent's best.

All rules go out the window in the quarter-final stage onwards, meaning Arsenal could face the other remaining Premier League team left in Manchester City - who are the current holders.

Spanish trio Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico also lie in wait, along with German pair Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, and then French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

What happened last time?

Not since the 2009/10 season have Arsenal properly rubbed shoulders with Europe’s elite, and that was also after beating Porto in the round of 16.

On that occasion, Barcelona were the quarter-final opponents as the two teams drew 2-2 at the Emirates Stadium before Lionel Messi scoring FOUR times as the Spanish side won 4-1 on the night and 6-3 on aggregate.
