Top of the tree and six-points clear of the chasers, it’s looking very, very promising over at Stamford Bridge right now.

And so it should! Standard Sport brings you the lowdown on what the Premier League means to Chelsea at Christmas…

  • Antonio Conte's side are sitting pretty as it stands after securing 11 consecutive victories since switching to a 3-4-3 formation and have been installed as 'Champions Elect'.

  • Chelsea have gone on to win the title on the four occasions they have topped the table on Christmas Day (2004/2005, 2005/2006, 2009/2010, 2014/15).

  • Chelsea have won more than 40 points before Christmas Day on a total of six occasions.

  • Chelsea have only dropped out of the top four on one occasion (2011/2012) after occupying a Champions League place on Christmas Day.

Next up for Chelsea is Eddie How's Bournemouth side on Boxing Day, and you can follow that match live on Standard Sport. Click here to find out how.
