West Ham midfielder Edimilson Fernandes is the latest player to leave as part of Manuel Pellegrini’s summer overhaul of the squad at the London Stadium.

Fernandes has joined Mainz after three years and 48 appearances for the Hammers.

The 23-year-old Switzerland international spend the 2018-19 season on loan at Serie A club Fiorentina.

His exit follows the departures of Andy Carroll, Samir Nasri and Adrian, who have been released following the end of their contracts.

West Ham said in statement: “Edimilson Fernandes has joined German Bundesliga club 1. FSV Mainz on a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee.

“West Ham United would like to thank Edimilson for his service and wish him every success for his future career.”
