Former Hammer Michael Carrick is one of West Ham’s most likeliest signings this summer, according to the bookmakers.
The midfielder, who is out of contract at Old Trafford, made 136 appearances for the Hammers before moving to London rivals Tottenham in 2004.
When quizzed on his future, Carrick insisted that he still had not given up hope of staying at the club following the arrival of Jose Mourinho.

“I’m hopeful (of staying),” he told Sky Sports. “There’s no news as yet but we’ll have to wait and see what happens next week.
“I haven’t got a timescale on it to be honest. This week has been a bit crazy with the new manager so I’ve come away to get away from it. We’ll take it up next week.”

The Hammers have £50 million to spend this summer, with Standard Sport revealing earlier this month that Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy, Tottenham targets Michy Batshuayi and Alexandre Lacazette are all on the club’s interest, while they also maintain interest in Liverpool’s Belgian striker.
