West Ham are targeting back-to-back home wins to end the season on a high having secured Premier League safety with three points at Leicester, says Declan Rice.

The young defender has endured tough times in recent weeks, with mistakes against Arsenal and Manchester City two recent blots on an otherwise impressive season.

David Moyes, albeit out of necessity, has shown faith with the 19-year-old and is always at pains to point out the Ireland international is the only player of his age and position playing regularly in the Premier League.

Having played a big role in securing survival this season, Rice is now targeting a positive end with Manchester United and Everton to visit London Stadium before the end of the season.

“I would say that’s one of the best performances we’ve put up this season,” Rice told the club website. “We knew before the game that it was crucial that we got three points.

“A point maybe would have been enough, but three points were the aim and I’ve never seen us so focused in the dressing room before the game and so ready to go out there and put in a performance.

“We’re focusing now on Man United and we want to go out and win that and we want to win the Everton game as well and try to finish as high as possible in the table.”
