West Ham striker Andy Carroll is a doubt for Saturday’s match at Middlesbrough.

The 28-year-old scored a spectacular, acrobatic goal in last weekend’s 3-0 win over Crystal Palace, but may be forced to sit out when the Hammers travel to the Riverside.

“Andy has a bit of whiplash, a sore neck, which happened towards the end of the game, but we hope he will be okay,” he said.

“We have a couple of knocks also. Winston Reid, Sam Byram and Soufiane Feghouli have all minor problems but I am very optimistic about all of them.

“We know we have a difficult game on Saturday. Middlesbrough don’t score a lot but they don’t concede many, either. We are in an okay situation but we want to be better — and for that you needs points.”
