West Ham owners David Sullivan and David Gold set to miss Dagenham & Redbridge friendly after fan trouble

Giuseppe Muro20 March 2018

West Ham co-owner David Sullivan has decided not to attend Wednesday's friendly at Dagenham & Redbridge.

The match is the first since Sullivan, David Gold and vice-chairman Karren Brady were the object of abuse from West Ham fans in the home game against Burnley.

Co-owner Gold is also not expected to attend the match amid security concerns following the trouble at the London Stadium 10 days ago.

Sullivan was allegedly hit by a coin during the second half of the match and he, Gold and Brady were forced to leave their seats in the directors’ box before full-time.

The fixture has been arranged to raise funds for cash-strapped National League club Dagenham.

Sullivan and Gold are determined to attend West Ham’s next match at the London Stadium, against Southampton on March 31.

West Ham have been allocated 1,200 tickets for the friendly, while Dagenham have sold more than 4,000, meaning tickets are still available at their 6,000-capacity stadium.
