West Ham have won their appeal against the red card issued to Sofiane Feghouli during Monday's defeat to Manchester United, the FA has confirmed.

Feghouli was dismissed by referee Mike Dean in the 15th minute of West Ham's 2-0 defeat to Jose Mourinho's side earlier this week.

The Algeria international was involved in a challenge with United defender Phil Jones and was set to serve a three-game ban as punishment after being given his marching orders.

But Slaven Bilic's side lodged a claim of wrongful dismissal with the game's governing body and Feghouli has now been cleared to play with immediate effect.

An FA statement read: "Sofiane Feghouli has had his claim of wrongful dismissal upheld today [Wednesday 4 January 2017] following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing.

"The West Ham United player was sent off for serious foul play during the game against Manchester United on Monday 2 January 2017.

"The standard three-match suspension has, therefore, been withdrawn with immediate effect."

Feghouli was initially scheduled to miss games against Manchester City, Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough but is now eligible to play in all three fixtures.
