West Ham striker Andy Carroll has again been sidelined for a month after injuring his hamstring in Tuesday's win over Bournemouth.

The 27-year-old was substituted after 15 minutes of kick-off at the Vitality Stadium as injury severely dented his outside chance of making the England squad ahead of Euro 2016.

Injury-plagued Carroll missed the majority of last season and the beginning of the current campaign with a knee problem, before returning to the side in September.

He had made just seven Premier League starts since the lengthy lay-off, but was beginning to find form over the festive period, scoring in successive games against Southampton and Liverpool.

But injury has again halted Carroll's progress, with Thursday's scan highlighting a minor hamstring tear, which will keep him out of action until February.

"The results show an injury to his hamstring, which is expected to keep him out of action for a month.
