West Ham will resist any attempts from Chelsea this month to sign their top scorer Michail Antonio.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is said to rate the player highly and was particularly impressed with his performance in the EFL Cup tie between the teams in October. The Hammers won that game 2-1.

The 26-year-old Antonio has scored eight Premier League goals this season and has played in various positions for the club, from right-back to central striker, his versatility also impressing the Chelsea manager.

Signed from Nottingham Forest in September 2015 on a four-year deal for £7million, Antonio had to wait until December to tie down a regular spot in Slaven Bilic’s team.

His performances have been so impressive he was called into the England squad in August by then manager Sam Allardyce.

West Ham though, are extremely reluctant to part with one of their best‑performing players in what has been a struggle for them so far this season and are instead looking to bolster their squad during the January transfer window.

London Football! Chelsea will face Brentford in the fourth round of the FA Cup following Monday night's draw.
