West Ham are in talks with former AC Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini.

The 36-year-old’s contract at Milan has expired and he is keen to move to another top level club to prolong his career.

Ambrosini’s agent Moreno Roggi confirmed they were discussing a move with West Ham, but did not rule out other options.

“Obviously Massimo wants to continue playing,” Roggi told Italian media. “There are some negotiations in place and we are evaluating every type of proposal,” he said

“His preference would be overseas clubs, but if an offer did come in from an Italian side, we would not ignore it completely.

“At this moment we are in talks with West Ham, while we have already ruled out Major League Soccer.”

Ambrosini spent 18 seasons at Milan, winning four Serie A titles and two Champions League trophies.
