West Ham boosted by Manuel Lanzini return ahead of Stoke clash as Andy Carroll resumes training

West Ham have been boosted by the news that Manuel Lanzini and James Collins are in contention to face Stoke City on Monday night.

David Moyes confirmed to reporters on Friday that the pair have both returned to training following their respective injuries, and could start West Ham's crunch Premier League game against relegation-battlers Stoke at the London Stadium on Monday night.

Carroll, who has not featured for West Ham since the club's 1-1 draw against Tottenham on 4 January because of a foot injury, has also returned to training although Moyes is not confident the 29-year-old will be able to face Stoke.

"Andy's back in training. We got him back at the start of the week and we will keep monitoring him," Moyes said.

"He's trained for a few days, so we'll see how he is. He's obviously not played for eleven weeks, and I've got that in my mind as well... (but) he's champing at the bit."

But Moyes is likely to have forward Lanzini available again, with the Argentine's last appearance for West Ham coming in the 3-0 loss at home to Burnley on 10 March.

The 25-year-old suffered a knock while on international duty with Argentina, which forced him to miss the 1-1 draw away to Chelsea last weekend.

But he, along with Collins, who has had a hamstring problem, are in contention to play when 19th-placed Stoke visit east London on Monday.

West Ham now sit in 14th place in the Premier League standings, six points above the relegation zone, and Moyes said he wants his team to go unbeaten from now until the end of the season to assure the club of their position in the top-flight.

"If we can keep the form going. I don't see any reason why we shouldn't aim to go unbeaten until the end of the season. That should get us enough points to stay up," Moyes added.

"We want to get 10 wins... we've got eight. The magic number is 40 points. We don't have enough, but the performances we've put in the last two games have given everyone a real lift."
